ISSUE: National Exchange Programs, Hot Line calls, and Field Reports indicate the need to improve diagnosis and servicing procedures for the E40D transmission. These diagnostic and service procedures are for conditions related to the Processor - Electronic Control Assembly (ECA). The base part number for gasoline engines is (12A650) and on diesel engines (12B565).

ACTION: Refer to the following pages for service tips, diagnostic and service procedures.
