Air Injection Control Valve: Description and Operation

Air Control Valve With Switch-Relief:

The Air Supply Control Valve is used in the Thermactor (Secondary Air) System, directed air pump output to the exhaust manifold or to the catalyst system depending on the engine control strategy. The Air control valve can be used as a Thermactor bypass valve by directing air to a remote air dump location or to the catalyst/exhaust system. In the event of excessive exhaust back pressure or system blockage a pressure relief valve will provide air pump protection.
