ADJUST
1. With ignition switch in OFF position and parking brake applied, place transmission selector lever into Drive position and hold against the stop by installing an 8 lb weight onto the selector lever knob.

2. Loosen shift rod adjusting nut, as shown in the appropriate Manual Linkage Adjustment image.
3. Place transmission manual lever into Drive position by moving lever completely rearward, then forward two detents.
4. With selector and manual levers in Drive position, torque shift rod adjusting nut to 12-18 ft lbs.

CAUTION: Do not over torque shift rod adjusting nut.

5. Remove weight from the steering column selector lever knob.
6. Operate shift lever in all gear positions to ensure manual lever is in full detent. Adjust lever, if necessary.
7. Ensure correct operation of the automatic selector indicator (P-R-N-D-2-1).

NOTE: Do not adjust linkage in any position other than the Drive position.
