Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
Fig. 15 Evaporator core removal:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect pressure switch electrical connector and remove from suction accumulator, Fig. 15.

3. Disconnect suction hose from accumulator, Fig. 2, and liquid line from evaporator core. Plug all open lines to prevent dirt and moisture contamination.
4. Remove nut retaining MAP sensor bracket to upper LH corner of evaporator case and remove spring clip holding sensor to housing, and position sensor aside.
5. Remove one nut retaining upper LH corner of evaporator case to dash panel, then remove six screws attaching LH evaporator cover to evaporator case.
6. Remove LH evaporator cover from case evaporator case.
7. Remove evaporator core and suction accumulator from evaporator case.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-rings lubricated with refrigerant oil.
9. Evacuate, charge and leak test system.
