ISSUE:
A rough idle, hesitation on acceleration, and/or a stall after start-up with no DTCs present may occur on some vehicles. This concern is noted at odometer reading greater than 48,280 km (30,000 miles). This may be caused by the throttle body gasket leaking, resulting in internal throttle body air passage due to vacuum.

ACTION:
Replace the throttle body gasket with a revised Throttle Body Gasket (F5TZ-9E936-BA). Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Perform normal diagnostics as directed by the appropriate year Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) or Engine/Emissions Diagnosis (H) Service Manual.

2. If no fault is indicated, replace the throttle body gasket with the revised Throttle Body Gasket (F5TZ-9E936-BA). Refer to the appropriate model/year Powertrain/Drivetrain Service Manual, Section 03-04B.

3. Test drive the vehicle to verify the fix results. If a concern is present, return to the symptom index of the appropriate year PC/ED or H Service Manual to service any additional symptoms.
