STEERING - TOE - SETTING PROCEDURE SERVICE TIPS - 4X4 VEHICLES

LIGHT TRUCK:
1987-93 F-250

ISSUE:
It may be difficult to set the toe on the tie rod accurately. This is due to the tie rod end moving as the drag link is rotated.

ACTION:
Refer to the following service procedure to set the toe accurately.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Rotate the drag link and its outer socket as far forward as possible (clockwise looking from driver's side). This will preset the drag link to its natural vehicle operation position.

2. Lock the steering wheel to its clear vision position.

3. Set total toe to +0.06~ (1/32 inch).
