Computers and Control Systems: Description and Operation
The electronic controls include a Transmission Electronic Control Assembly (TECA), TECA power relay, Fuel Injection Pump Lever (FIPL) sensor, Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS), Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), Engine RPM Sensor, Barometric Pressure (BP) sensor, stop lamp switch, and an Overdrive Cancel Switch (OCS).The TECA uses the information from the sensors to control transmission capacity, up and down shift scheduling, converter clutch solenoid state, and coast clutch control. These four systems and the TECA operate together to provide improved transmission performance.
