Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

W/AOD TRANSMISSION

1. On models equipped with airbag, disarm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Place selector lever in the manual LOW position.
3. Disconnect battery ground cable and isolate cable end with electrical tape.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Disconnect neutral safety switch electrical connector.
6. Using Neutral Start Switch Socket T74P-77247-A or equivalent, and a ratchet, remove neutral start switch and O-ring.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque switch to 8-11 ft. lbs.
b. Reactivate airbag system.
