Boost Pressure Switch (BPS)
Boost Pressure Switch (BPS):
PURPOSE The Boost Pressure Switch
(BPS) sends a signal to the ECA when turbo boost pressure reaches 10.4 - 11.6 psi (71.8 - 79.8 kPa). This signal causes the ECA to cut fuel injection as a way to prevent engine damage from overboost.
LOCATION Behind the intake plenum.
OPERATION This is an ON/OFF switch that signals the ECA when the preset pressure is reached.
