With Scan Tool

1. Perform all safety steps required to START and RUN the vehicle tests (apply parking brake, put transmission in PARK (NEUTRAL for M/T), block the drive wheels, etc.).
2. Turn OFF all electrical loads (radio, lights, blower motor, etc.)
3. Turn the ignition key OFF.
4. Connect the scanner test lead to the diagnostic connector.
5. Connect a timing light to the vehicle.
