Vacuum Reservoir HVAC: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect vacuum hose at servo, then connect hose to suitable vacuum gauge.
2. Start engine and observe vacuum gauge. Vacuum should be approximately 23 inches Hg. If vacuum is not as specified, check for leaking vacuum hose or defective vacuum pump.
3. Turn engine off after vacuum has stabilized above 20 inches Hg. Vacuum should remain steady. After 24 hours, vacuum should still be a minimum of 15 inches Hg.
4. If vacuum does not hold, check for leak in vacuum harness and repair or replace as required. If vacuum still does not hold after checking vacuum harness for leaks, replace vacuum reservoir.
