Cold Weather Modulator/Retard Delay Valve

Cold Weather Modulator Test:

1. Attach a vacuum pump the large center port of the CWM.

2. Cool the CWM, apply vacuum.
Vacuum must hold.

3. Warm the CWM, apply vacuum.
Vacuum must be released.


VACUUM RETARD DELAY VALVE (VRDV) TEST

Retard Delay Valve Test:

1. Attach a vacuum pump to the small (white) port of the valve.

2. Attach a vacuum gauge to the large (colored) port of the valve.

3. Apply 10" vacuum and hold.

4. Verify gauge reads 10" vacuum, then release vacuum from pump to valve.

5. Count the seconds it takes the vacuum to drop from 8" to 0" of vacuum.
Replace the sensor if it fails, according to the chart below.

Color Code Delay Time

Red 15-28 seconds
Blue 9-20 seconds
Pink 4-12 seconds
