Glow Plug: Description and Operation
The glow plugs used are Positive Temperature Coefficient
(PTC) plugs with push on bullet terminals. The glow plugs assist in the ignition of the diesel fuel by preheating the air in the pre-combustion chamber. The glow plugs are located in the the cylinder head and extend into the precombustion chamber. PTC glow plugs change resistance with temperature. The controller can measure the resistance change, and cycle the glow plugs to maintain proper
glow plug temperature.
