Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
To gain access to the front engine seals, remove the timing belt cover and proceed as follows:
CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL
1. Without removing cylinder front cover, remove crankshaft sprocket with crankshaft sprocket remover tool T74P-6306A.
2. Remove crankshaft oil seal with front cover seal remover tool T74P-6700B.
3. Install a new crankshaft oil seal with shaft seal installer tool T74P-6150A.
4. Install crankshaft sprocket with recess facing engine block.
CAMSHAFT & AUXILIARY SHAFT OIL SEALS
1. Remove camshaft or auxiliary shaft sprocket with camshaft sprocket remover/holding tool T74P-6256A.
2. Remove oil seal with front cover seal remover tool T74P-6700B.
3. Install a new oil seal with shaft seal installer tool T74P-6150A.
4. Install camshaft or auxiliary shaft sprocket with camshaft sprocket holding tool T74P-6256A with center arbor removed.
