NOTE: You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when you have been directed here from Quick Test.


REMEMBER

To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-EEC areas may be at fault.

- Fuel (quality)

- Basic engine

- Spark timing


This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose only the following:


- Knock sensor

- Harness circuits: KS and SIG RTN

- Processor assembly



DESCRIPTION


The Knock Sensor is used to detect engine detonation (spark knock). As a result, a voltage sent to the processor will lead to spark timing retard.
