EGR Valve: Service and Repair
EGR Valve and Components:
1. Remove the EGR transducer retaining bolt and move the transducer out of the way.
2. Disconnect the EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube at the EGR external pressure valve.
3. Remove the EGR valve retaining bolts and the EGR valve from the upper manifold.
4. Clean the mating surfaces, being careful not to allow debris to fall into the intake manifold.
5. Using a new gasket, install the EGR valve to the upper manifold. Install the retaining bolts and torque to 15-22 lb. ft. (20-30 Nm).
6. Connect the EGR valve to the exhaust manifold tube and torque the nut to 25-35 lb. ft. (34-47 N-m).
7. Install the EGR transducer and retaining bolt. Torque the bolt to 15-22 lb. ft. (20-30 N-m).
