Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Air Intake Components:

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect PCV fresh air base from outlet tube.

2. Loosen air cleaner outlet tube clamps at Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and throttle body.

3. Remove air cleaner outlet tube assembly.

4. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connection.

5. Remove two air cleaner assembly retaining nuts from below RH fender apron.

6. Remove air cleaner assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Install air cleaner assembly into position aligning studs with holes in sheet metal.

2. Install two retaining nuts. Tighten the nuts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in). Do not over tighten the nuts.

3. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connection.

4. Install air cleaner outlet tube. Tighten the retaining clamps to 3-6 Nm (27-53 lb in).

5. Connect the PCV fresh air hose to the outlet tube.

6. Start engine and check for air leaks.
