Ambient Light Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Light Sensor monitors ambient light to control the autolamp relay.

OPERATION
As light level decreases, the sensor resistance increases to a preset amount, energizing the relay, which turns on the headlamps, the exterior lamps, and the instrument illumination lamps.

The sensor can be adjusted by rotating an adjustment screw on the sensor toward the EARLIER or LATER markings.
