Stator: Testing and Inspection
1. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the slip rings. Resistance reading should be between 2.5-3.6 ohms.2. Check for continuity between each slip ring and rotor core. If continuity exists, the rotor coil is shorted and should be replaced.
3. If rotor is to be reused, clean the slip rings with fine emery paper if they appear grooved or dark.
