Campaign - Incorrect Certification Label: Overview

December, 1994

TO: All Ford Dealers

SUBJECT:
Owner Notification Program 94B57 - Certain 1994 Ford Aspires - Incorrect Certification Label

OASIS - No
OWNER LIST - No
PARTS RETURN - N0

AFFECTED VEHICLES:
Certain 1994 Ford Aspire cars released from ports of entry in the U.S. from February 1, 1994 through March 26, 1994.

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM:
Some of these cars were shipped from the assembly plant without the dates of manufacture printed on the safety compliance certification labels. Federal regulation, Part 567.4 (g) (2), specifies that the month and year of manufacture must be specified on the labels.

SERVICE ACTION:
To correct this condition, owners of the affected cars will be mailed a partial label containing the vehicle's build date, a label cleaning pad and instructions on how to affix the partial label to the existing certification label. The owners will also be advised that if they wish, their dealer will affix the partial label at no charge, and that they should bring their letter, partial label, cleaning pad and vehicle with them if they want their dealer to assist.
