AB6 Diagnose Intermittent Wiring Concern

- Install breakout box and 1994 Econoline 4WABS overlay. Using the Breakout Box For Circuit Checks

- Pull the ABS warning lamp feed fuse.

- Key ON.

- Monitor voltage between breakout box pins 20 and 1 (ground) while wiggling circuit 162 (LG/R).

- Is there 7 volts or greater at any time?

YES -- Short has been detected between B+ and circuit 162 (LG/R). Repair wiring fault. Remove breakout box. Reassemble ECU connector. Go to AB13 to verify concern is resolved. AB13 Verify Condition Resolved

NO -- Less than 7V but more than 2V -- Resistive short has been detected in circuit 162 (LG/R). Repair wiring fault in 14401 harness. Go to AB13 to verify concern is resolved. AB13 Verify Condition Resolved

NO -- Less than 2V, no voltage is measured -- Fault is not repeatable. Concern is in the 14401 wiring harness. Repair wiring fault in 14401 harness.
