JA18 - Check For CKP+ Shorted to CKP - Resistance Low Fault

- Key Off.

- Disconnect CKP sensor from vehicle harness connector.

- DVOM on 20K ohm scale.

- Measure resistance between J35 (CKP+ I) and J48 (CKP- I) at breakout box.

- Is resistance greater than 3K ohms?

YES -- REPLACE CKP sensor. Shorted sensor windings. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- CHECK connectors. SERVICE or REPLACE harness. CKP+ shorted to CKP-in harness. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
