Possible Causes:
- Intermittent harness continuity.
- Damaged shift solenoid.
- Worn friction elements.

- Key Off.

- Disconnect PCM. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, connect PCM.

- Connect one DVOM test lead to the shift solenoid signal Test Pin (Pin 27 when concerned with SS1 and Pin 1 when concerned with SS2) and the remaining DVOM test lead to Test Pin 71 (VPWR).

- Key On, Engine Off.

- Observe the DVOM for an indication of a fault while performing the following:
- Wiggle, shake and bend a small section of the PCM vehicle harness while working toward the dash panel, PCM and transmission connectors.

NOTE: A fault is indicated by a sudden voltage change?

- Is a fault Indicated?

YES -- ISOLATE fault and SERVICE as necessary. Complete PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun drive cycle test in TG90 to verify the repair. TG90 - Perform Drive Cycle Test

If concern still exists, REFER to Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle for possible internal transmission damage.

NO -- COMPLETE PCM reset to clear DTCs. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

GO to Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle for possible internal transmission damage.
