H2 Check Hydraulic Pressure
NOTE: This test requires an assistant. The pressure reduction operation occurs within a two second period.
- Jack up the vehicle so that all the wheels are clear of the ground and the vehicle is properly supported.
- Shift the transaxle to NEUTRAL.
- Release the parking brake.
- Check to see that there is no brake drag while rotating the wheels by hand.
- Use a jumper wire to connect the "TBS" and "GND" terminals at the data link connector.
- Depress the brake pedal and have an assistant verify that the wheels will not rotate.
- With the brake pedal still depressed, turn the key ON and verify that the brake pressure is released momentarily (approximately 0.5 seconds) and that each wheel rotates when pressure reduction operates as shown:
- Does the pressure reduction operate properly?
YES -- If directed to this pinpoint test from quick test step QT4, ABS is functioning properly.
YES -- If directed to this pinpoint test from step A8, intermittent fault. Go to continuous test. QT8 Perform Continuous Test
YES -- If directed to this pinpoint test from step C3, go to G1. G1 Check ABS Brake Indicator Operation
NO -- Inspect hydraulic system piping and wiring. If OK, replace hydraulic anti-lock actuator assembly.
