Cooling System: Description and Operation

The cooling fan incorporates a two-speed cooling electric motor which is mounted within a shroud behind the radiator. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor measures coolant temperature at water outlet connection and sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which will activate cooling fan accordingly. The low cooling fan motor is activated at 212°F, with high cooling fan motor activated at 226°F.
