- Verify ignition is OFF.

- Remove the sensor from the rear axle housing and inspect for a build up of metal chips on sensor magnetic pole.

- Are metal chips present?

YES -- Drain and clean rear axle housing. Go to 6.7. 6.7

NO -- Leave speed sensor out. Go to 6.7. 6.7
