REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Remove upper intake manifold.
3. Remove ground cables from intake manifold, then disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
4. Remove engine oil dipstick bracket bolt, then fuel tube clip from fuel inlet and return fittings.
5. Disconnect push connect fitting at fuel supply manifold and fuel return lines.
6. Disconnect electrical connection from fuel injectors, then move fuel charging wiring aside.
7. Remove lower, then upper retaining bolts from lower intake manifold. Remove lower intake manifold assembly, then engine lift bracket.
8. Remove screws and fuel injection supply manifold from upper intake manifold, if necessary.
9. Remove injectors nozzle tips from upper intake manifold, if necessary. Grasping injector body, pull up while gently wiggling injector from side to side.
10. Remove ignition control module screws, then module from lower intake manifold, if necessary.
11. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Clean mounting surfaces of intake manifold and cylinder head.
b. If ignition control module was removed, apply light coat of silicone dielectric compound or equivalent to mounting surface of ignition control module. Mount on lower intake manifold and tighten screws to 26-35 in. lbs.
c. If fuel injector nozzle tips were removed, inspect injector O-rings for deterioration. If replacing, lubricate new O-rings with 10W30 motor oil, then install fuel injectors into lower intake manifold.
d. If fuel injection supply manifold was removed, install and tighten bolts to 15-22 ft lb.
