DB3 - Check EGRT Circuit For Shorts to Ground
- Key "OFF".
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) 60-pin connector. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.
- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.
- EGR Temperature (EGRT) sensor disconnected.
- Measure resistance between test pin 43 and test pins 40, 46 and 60 at the breakout box.
- Is each resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes -- Replace PCM. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
No -- Service short circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
