Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVALThrottle Body Removal/Installation:
1. Remove throttle linkage shield.
2. Disconnect the cruise control and throttle cables.
3. Unbolt the accelerator cable from the bracket and position out of the way.
4. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and idle air control valve electrical connectors.
5. Remove air intake, crankcase vent and evaporative canister purge hoses.
6. Remove four throttle body retaining bolts.
7. Carefully separate throttle body from upper intake manifold.
8. Remove and discard gasket between throttle body and upper intake manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. Ensure that both throttle body and upper intake manifold gasket surfaces are clean.
NOTE: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into manifold.
2. Install throttle body and gasket to upper intake manifold and secure with four retaining bolt. Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-25 lb ft).
3. Connect air intake, crankcase vent, and evaporative canister purge hoses. Tighten the air intake hose clamp to 2-3 Nm (18-27 lb in).
4. Connect throttle position sensor and idle air control valve electrical connectors.
5. Connect throttle and cruise control cables.
6. Install throttle linkage shield.
