V: Door Ajar Warning Never/Always Comes on







V1 CHECK SWITCHES

^ The following steps are to be repeated for each door ajar switch. Start with the driver's door, then front passenger, then rear passenger's.


Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to OFF. This resets the warning.

^ Pull connector off of the door ajar switch.


^ Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to RUN.


^ Check message center for warning.


^ Repeat until no warning is displayed or all door switches are disconnected.


^ Is warning still displayed?


Yes


GO to V2.

No

SERVICE the last switch tested.



V2 CHECK CIRCUIT 627 BK-O


^ Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to OFF.


^ Remove instrument cluster.


^ Using Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter 014-00407 or equivalent, check continuity between Pins 15 and 13 of Connector A.


^ Is there continuity?


No


GO to V3

Yes

SERVICE Circuit 627 (BK-O) for short.



V3 CHECK SWITCH


^ Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to OFF.


^ Pull connector off of the problem door ajar switch.


Connect a jumper wire from Circuit 627 (BK-O) at the harness connector to ground.

^ Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to RUN.


^ Is warning displayed at System Scanner?

Yes


SERVICE door ajar switch.

No

GO to V4.



V4 CHECK WIRING


^ Leave jumper wire connected as in Step V3.


^ Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to OFF.


^ Remove instrument cluster.


^ Check continuity between Pins 15 and 13 of Connector A.


^ Is there continuity?


Yes


REPLACE instrument cluster.

No

SERVICE Circuit 627 (BK-O) for open.
