DD20 - Check EGRV/EGRA Solenoid Resistance

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 571 indicates a failure in the EGR Atmospheric (EGRA) solenoid circuit.

DTC 572 indicates a failure in the EGR Vacuum (EGRV) solenoid circuit.

Possible causes:

- Damaged EGRA; EGRV solenoid.

- Open in harness circuit.

- Short in harness circuit.

- Damaged Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect EGRA or EGRV solenoid depending on the DTC generated.

- Measure solenoid resistance.

- Is resistance between 30 and 70 ohms?

Yes -- Go to DD21. DD21 - Check Solenoid VPWR Circuit

No -- Replace appropriate solenoid. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
