Safety Recall 94S85 - Certain 1994 Model Year Ranger Trucks - Inspection/Replacement of Front Fuel Line Assembly.

Reference:
Stop Sale Mailgram of June 1, 1994.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

Certain 1994 Model Year Ranger Trucks produced from April 28, 1994 through May 18, 1994 at Louisville Assembly Plant; from April 29, 1994 through May 18, 1994 at Edison Plant; from April 25, 1994 through May 13, 1994 at Twin Cities Plant. These vehicles are equipped with 3.OL, or 4.0L engines.

REASONS FOR RECALL
Some of the affected vehicles may have flexible, braided fiberglass covered sections in the front of the fuel supply and return lines that may leak. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could potentially result in fire.

To correct this condition, dealers are to inspect, and if necessary, replace the supply and return front fuel lines.

RENTAL CARS
If the truck requires a new fuel line assembly, the Ford Motor Company will pay for rental vehicles until new parts arrive and repairs are completed, except for the fuel, which will be at owner's expense. Dealers must stay within ESP guidelines of $25.00 A day.

Dealers must enter rental charges in the misc. / Transportation area of the 1864 claim form.
