L: Speedometer Reads 0 MPH (km/H) at All Speeds When Vehicle In Motion

L1 VERIFY DISPLAY PROVE OUT


^ Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to RUN.


^ Observe display (all segments on, then off, and then normal display).


^ Do segments operate properly?


Yes


GO to L2.

No

REPLACE instrument cluster.

NOTE: AFFIX odometer sticker to door pillar.



L2 CHECK ODOMETER


^ Verify that odometer advances when vehicle is driven forward.
^ Does odometer advance and the speedometer stick at 0 mph?


No

GO to L3.

Yes

REPLACE instrument cluster.

NOTE: AFFIX odometer sticker to door pillar.



L3 CHECK PSOM MODULE


^ Remove instrument cluster.


^ Measure voltage at Pin 1 of C254.


^ Does it measure battery voltage?


Yes


GO to L4.

No

REPAIR Circuit 54 of wiring harness.



L4 CHECK PSOM IGNITION FEED


^ Measure voltage at Pin 3 of C254.


^ Does this measure approximate battery voltage?


Yes


GO to L5.

No

SERVICE Circuit 489 of wiring harness.



L5 CHECK ABS MODULE

^ Dump ABS fault codes by turning ignition ON.


^ Ground C297 (517 BK/O) (Ignition must be on before grounding this wire).


^ Does the module give a Code 13?


Yes


REPLACE cluster.

No

CHECK ABS system for concern.
