NB2 - Continuous Code 212: Check For Other EEC Codes
Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 212 indicates a loss of Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) input to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Possible causes:
- Open circuit.
- Shorted circuit.
- Damaged Ignition Control Module (ICM).
- Damaged PCM.
- Clear continuous memory DTC 212. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Attempt to start vehicle. If vehicle is a No Start, go to pinpoint test step AB1. AB1 - Identify Type of No Start
- Run engine for 5 to 10 minutes, exercising the throttle.
- Rerun Key On Engine Off Self-Test and record Continuous Memory DTCs. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
- Is Continuous Memory DTC 212, 214, 215, 216, 217 or 232 present?
Yes -- For DTC 212: Go to pinpoint test step NB3. >NB3 - Continuous Codes 212, 222 or 218: Check IDM Circuit
For DTC 214: Go to pinpoint test step DR1. DR1 - Will Engine Start
For DTCs 215, 216, 217 or 232: Refer to Ignition Systems.
No -- Go to Ignition Systems for intermittent diagnosis.
