Oil Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Remove oil pan.

NOTE: If replacing oil pump make sure to remove oil pump intermediate shaft from the pump.

2. Remove oil pickup screen and oil pump attaching bolts, then the oil pump and pump driveshaft.

INSTALLATION:
1. If replacing oil pump, insert oil pump intermediate shaft assembly into the hex drive hole in oil pump until intermediate shaft retaining ring "clicks" into place.

NOTE: Ensure oil pump is primed before installation.

2. Install oil pump with oil pump intermediate shaft through intermediate shaft hole in rear main bearing cap position oil pump over locating pins.
3. Install retaining bolt and tighten to 40-55 Nm (30-40 lb-ft).
4. Install oil pan.
