Fig. 11 Piston & Rod Assembly:

Assemble rod to piston with notch on piston dome on the same side as oil squirt hole on connecting rod. Assemble piston and rod assembly in engine with notch in dome facing front of engine.

NOTE: Police model engines contain pistons with a special high silicone alloy. They are identified with two notches on top of the piston.
