AA - Testing Notes

NOTE: You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when directed here from Diagnostic Routines or Ignition Systems.

REMEMBER: To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-Electronic Engine Controls (EEC) areas may be at fault:

- Fuel: quantity and quality
- Ignition: general condition, moisture, cracks, damage, etc.
- Engine: internal, valves, timing belt, camshaft
- Starter and battery circuit
- Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor
- Ignition Control Module (ICM)
- Distributor
- Ignition coil

This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose only the following:

- Spark (as related to EEC)
- Harness circuits: PIP, SPOUT, IGN GND, VPWR
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (12A650)

WARNING: Stop this test at the first sign of a fuel leak and service as required.

CAUTION: No open flame -- No smoking during fuel delivery checks.
