AA17 - Check Continuity of PIP Circuit
- Key "OFF".
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM) disconnected.
- Governor Control Module (GCM) disconnected.
- Disconnect Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
- Measure resistance between PIP circuit at the CMP sensor connector and test pin 56 at breakout box.
- Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?
Yes -- Go to AA18. AA18 - Check PIP Circuit For Short to Power and Ground
No -- Service open circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
