DR5 - Check CID Circuit For Short to Ground
- Key "OFF".
- Breakout box installed, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) disconnected.
- Camshaft Position (CMP) or Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor disconnected.
- Ignition Control Module (ICM) (Pins 1-6) disconnected.
- Measure resistance between the Cylinder Identification (CID)(+) Signal test pin and test pins 16, 40 and 46 at the breakout box.
- Is each resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes -- Go to DR7. DR7 - Check For Shorts In PCM
No -- Service short circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect PCM. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
