FE43 - Check DEF Circuit For Continuity

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect rear window defroster (DEF) switch.

- Breakout box installed, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) disconnected.

- Measure resistance between test pin 15 (test pin 23 for CD4E and Calif. M/T) at breakout box and DEF circuit at Power Distribution box.

- Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Go to FE44. FE44 - Check DEF Circuit For Short to Ground

No -- Service open circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Verify elimination of idle speed concern.
