FF16 - Check Continuity of PSPS Circuits

- Key "OFF".

- Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch disconnected.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins. corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM connected.

- Measure resistance between test pin 28 at the breakout box and PSP circuit at the PSP switch vehicle harness connector.

- On duel pin PSP connector, measure resistance between test pin 46 at the breakout box and SIG RTN circuit at the PSP vehicle harness connected.

- Is each resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Replace PCM. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Re-evaluate symptom.

No -- Service open in harness. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
