FF2 - Check Continuity of PSPS Circuit

- Key "OFF".

- Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch disconnected.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Measure resistance between test pin 46 at the breakout box and SIG RTN circuit at the PSP switch vehicle harness connector.

- Measure resistance between test pin 28 (test pin 2 for 3.0L Taurus SHO; test pin 24 for 2.3L Ranger and 5.0L MFI Truck (49 State)) at the breakout box and PSP circuit at the PSP switch vehicle harness connector.

- Is each resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Replace PCM. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Service open circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
