FF20 - Verify Operator Interaction

NOTE: Some vehicles are equipped with Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch software strategy, but do not have the hardware released for production. When Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 519 is present, check to see if the vehicle has a PSP switch; if not, disregard servicing DTC 519. Return to Diagnostic Routines, to service other DTCs.

DTC 521 indicates the PSP switch did not change state due to the switch staying open or closed. Possible Causes:

- Damaged PSP switch.

- Open or shorted harness.

- Damaged Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

- Wheels turned, not centered.

- Was the steering wheel turned at least one-half turn within one to two seconds after engine identification DTC?

Yes -- Go to FF21. FF21 - Determine If the PCM Can Identify A Closed Circuit

No -- Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
