X8 - Check VPWR Circuit Continuity

- Key "OFF".

- Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM) disconnected.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Measure resistance between test pins 37 and 57 at the breakout box and Pin 24 at the CCRM vehicle harness connector.

- For Mustang and Thunderbird/Cougar, also measure resistance between test pins 37 and 57 at the breakout box and Pin 12 at the CCRM vehicle harness connector.

- Is each resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Replace CCRM. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Service open in VPWR circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
