Trunk / Liftgate Relay: Description and Operation
OPERATION With the ignition switch in "RUN", the manual lever position sensor in "NEUTRAL" or "PARK", and the liftgate release switch closed, voltage is applied to the
liftgate release relay.
The relay is then energized and applies voltage to the liftgate release solenoid to unlatch the liftgate.
