Steering: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect power steering return hose.
2. Place return line in suitable container, then plug reservoir return line at reservoir.
3. Fill reservoir with suitable power steering fluid.
4. Disconnect coil wire, then raise and support front wheels.
5. While adding about two quarts of fluid, turn ignition to START position, then crank engine with starter and turn steering wheel right to left.
6. When all the fluid is added, turn ignition OFF, and connect coil wire.
7. Remove reservoir return line plug, then connect line to reservoir.
8. Fill reservoir to specified level.
9. Lower vehicle, then start engine, slowly turn steering wheel several times lock to lock. Recheck fluid level and add as required.
