Circuit Breaker: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove circuit breaker from fuse panel.
2. Using a multimeter, adjust current draw to equal the circuit breaker rating.
3. Connect circuit breaker to tester for 10 minutes. If circuit breaker opens within the time specified, replace it.
4. Readjust current draw to equal twice the circuit breaker rating.
5. Connect circuit breaker to tester. The ammeter current reading should drop to zero within 30 seconds. If circuit breaker does not open within the time specified, replace it.
