C7 Test For Intermittent Valve Fault

- Disconnect the 12-pin connector from the HCU.

NOTE: Refer to the schematic for valve block pin designations.

- Measure resistance between the following on the component side of the 12-way:

- Pin 6 and Pin 4

- Pin 6 and Pin 10

SERVICE TIP: If at first all measurements are 3-6 ohms, a drive over rough road while resistance is being monitored for any change is recommended to detect intermittent valve failure due to poor solder joints or marginal coil wire (Code C1198).

- What resistance is measured?

Less than 3 ohms or more than 6 ohms on any measurement Replace HCU. Go to C13 to verify concern is resolved. C13 Verify Concern Is Resolved

3-6 ohms on ALL measurements and no change is observed HCU is OK. Reconnect 12-pin HCU connector. Go to C8. C8 Test For Intermittent Wire Fault
