D5 Determine Location of Resistance Fault

- Disconnect the 12-pin connector from the HCU.

NOTE: Refer to the schematic for valve block pin designations.

- Measure resistance between the following on the COMPONENT side of the 12-way:

- Pin 12 and Pin 4

- Pin 12 and Pin 10

- What resistance is measured?

Less than 1 ohm or more than 3 ohms on any measurement. Replace HCU. Go to D13 to verify concern is resolved. D13 Verify Concern Is Resolved

1-3 ohms on ALL measurements and Code C1196 was obtained. HCU is OK. Find and repair source of low resistance in Circuit 496 (O) between the antilock brake control module and HCU. Go to D13 to verify concern is resolved. D13 Verify Concern Is Resolved

1-3 ohms on ALL measurements and Code C1194 was obtained. HCU is OK. Find and repair source of high resistance in Circuit 496 (O) between the antilock brake control module and HCU. Go to D13 to verify concern is resolved. D13 Verify Concern Is Resolved
