R12 Check Intermittent Resistive or Dead Short In ABS Wiring

- Disconnect the antilock brake control module 40-pin connector.

- Disconnect pump motor 2-pin connector.

- Disconnect ABS power 2-pin connector (near 16-way ABS harness connector).

- Inspect both connector assemblies for evidence of water intrusion or excessive contamination on the terminals.

NOTE: Turn the speaker or beeper of the Rotunda 88 Digital Multimeter 105-00053 on to help indicate any large change in the state of continuity as the drive is performed.

- Set up Rotunda 88 Digital Multimeter 105-00053 to measure resistance between the pins on the ABS side of the 2-pin ABS power connector (so that the wiring to the pump motor can be checked).

- Drive vehicle over rough road and monitor the measured resistance.

- Is continuity ever obtained?

YES -- Resistive or dead short is detected between Circuit 532 (O/Y) and Circuit 539 (PK/LB). Find and repair the source of low resistance. Correct any issues with the connectors or terminals. Pack both connectors with dielectric grease. Go to R15 to verify the concern is resolved. R15 Verify Concern Is Resolved

NO -- Go to R14. R14 Conclude Intermittent Diagnosis
